WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?
We Stand Up is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit incorporated in California but primarily operating out of Brooklyn, NY. We chose Brooklyn for its vibrant culture, kaleidoscope of ideas, and prominent activist community. Our goal is to eventually expand throughout the United States.
HOW DO WE SOURCE OUR CONTENT?
We Stand Up sources its content through a variety of online services and personal networking. We primarily work with creators in the greater New York City area. Our goal is to find each individual's unique talents and utilize them to create content that is both substantive and engaging.
ARE WE FOCUSED ON ANY SPECIFIC POLICIES OR POLITICIANS?
We Stand Up was not created to pass any specific legislation or elect any specific candidates. Our political platform revolves around a general system of values emphasizing socio-economic equality, environmental sustainability, social justice, technological innovation, anti-corruption, and anti-violence. In short, we endorse policies and candidates that we believe reflect those values.
Why 501(c)(4)?
We incorporated as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit in order to avoid the restrictions on political lobbying that 501(c)(3) nonprofits face. Because of our tax filing, donations are NOT tax deductible. Since we are not directly aligned with any particular candidate, policy, or political party, we do not act as a political action committee and therefore do not impose restrictions on individual contributions.
HOW CAN I HELP?
People can support We Stand Up in a variety of ways. Whether that includes donating to our project, sharing on social media, attending events, wearing merchandise, applying to be a collaborator, or simply enjoying the content - any type of involvement is greatly appreciated. WHY WE STAND UP?
We Stand Up was created to establish a contemporary platform to connect with the ascendant generation on a deeper level than what mainstream institutions offer. There is a growing consensus among young people that our society is fundamentally sick and that the sickness has something to do with socio-economic inequality, environmental degradation, a culture of hate, hyper-consumerism, and the absurdist theatre of national politics. We're going to be examining these symptoms along with other cultural components in a quest for new answers about how to organize, improve, and cope with the society we live in now and the one we want create for tomorrow.
HOW IS THE MONEY SPENT?
We Stand Up is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit. Unlike a charity, we do not directly fund specified philanthropic endeavors. Donated funds are used for company overhead, content creation, marketing actions, and the deployment of experimental technologies. However, each and every dollar donated is used to help us achieve socio-political transformation.

We Stand Up is always on the lookout for dynamic and passionate collaborators. Our core team needs people with skills in nonprofit management, media, and political advocacy - but we're open to anyone who knows how to color outside the lines!
